Mayfield, Ky. -- Genevieve Shemwell Belote, 89, of Mayfield died Jan. 24 at her residence.
She was a retired employee of Curlee Clothing Co., a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and a member of Trinity-McKendree United Women.
Mrs. Belote is survived by her son, Bernard Belote III of Tunica, Miss.; two daughters, Barbara Elliott of Mayfield and Carolyn Bies of Worland, Wyo.; a sister, Earleen Doran of Murray; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard N. Belote Jr.; one brother; and two sisters. Her parents were Earl Shemwell and Tommie Hobert (McNutt) Shemwell.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Byrn Funeral Home. The Rev. Joe Hansen will officiate. Burial was at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
