William Tillman Agee, son of Isaac and Cordilla Thornton Agee, was the first burial in the Agee Family Cemetery. His siblings were: Mary Emmaline, Wilson, Benjamin, John, Malissa, Matthew, James, Jackson, Sarah, Judy, Jasper, Isaac Thomas and Charles.
He was a casualty of the Oregon and Washington Indian War.
Until the brass caps were installed, no marker identified W.T. Agee's burial. One brass cap is inscribed: "William Tillman Agee son of I. & C. Agee 1833-1857". The other honors his death as a soldier, inscribed: "Wm. T. Agee, casualty of the O & W Indian War, 1855-1856, War Dept. Benefit $175.88.
He died of wounds in the Yakima Indian Wars, serving with his brother, Wilson, as privates, in the Yamhill Company "E" of the first regiment of Oregon mounted volunteers, and, under Captain A.J. Hembree. Hembree was killed and scalped.
