The following is words of Carl Enoch Hill....
Wade engaged in farming and logging. Wade was regarded as the greatest ox driver in this section and prehaps had no superior in this respect anywhere. Logging with four or five yoke of oxen together was not uncommon thing for Wade Bennett.

Carl Enoch Hill visited Wade and Mrs. Bennett at their country home, some four miles from Arbuckle, West Virginia in September 1938. Wade had a yoke of spendidly matched oxen which he yoked up and had perform for us. They really performed too; part of the time over a hill and around a bend out of his sight but still in range of his voice. Carl had a picture of this yoke of oxen, Wade gave Carl an ox shoe which he prized highly. Wade died rather suddenly October 28, 1939.
