She was the loving wife of Manuel Aguiar.
Born in Bristol a daughter of the late Benjamin J. and Filomena G. (Roderick) Carnes-Abate, and a step-daughter of the late Frank S. Abate.
Laura was a dotter for the former Premier Thread Company she also worked for the former Converse Rubber Company both formerly of Bristol.
Laura was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality; she also was a member of the Franklin Court Tenants Association and an avid Boston Red Sox Fan.
Besides her husband Laura will be sadly missed by he children, Norman R. Aguiar of Fall River, MA, John J. Aguiar of Buchtel, OH and Deborah A. Lefebvre of Barrington. A sister Dolores Breeze of Buchtel, OH. Eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and step-father she was preceded in death by a brother Benjamin J. Carnes, Jr. and a step-brother Frank S. Abate, Jr.
Her funeral service was held from the Sansone Funeral Home 192 Wood Street Friday with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth's Church 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bristol.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bristol Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 775, Bristol, RI 02809
