Martin played for the position of defensive end for the USFL Birmingham Stallions in 1983, Green Bay Packers from 1984 to 1987, Houston Oilers in 1987, and the Atlanta Falcons in 1988. One of the greatest moments in Martin's career was in a game in 1986 when he body-slammed Chicago Bears quarterback Jim McMahon into the turf and ended his season. Martin died in Houston, Texas, at the age of 45 in January 2005 from the effects of kidney disease. (bio by: K)
