Robert N. Houghton, age 75, of Edwards, MO., passed away suddenly Wednesday evening, January 16, 2013 in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was born on December 1, 1937, the only child of Euid Noland and Virginia Pearl Williams Houghton.

He grew up in Paris, Missouri and graduated from high school.

He enlisted into the United States Air Force and was stationed in North Carolina. He was honorably discharged and returned to the Kansas City area.

He completed cosmetology school and worked in Brookside. He then went to firefighter academy and joined the Kansas City Fire Department where he worked from 1963 until his retirement after 25 years of service in 1988.

Following his retirement, he became an avid golfer. He enjoyed working on and showing his John Deere Tractor and he loved dance the two-step.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Kay.

He is survived by one daughter, Lorre Fossum, of Kansas City, Missouri, a son, Robert Houghton, of Overland Park, Kansas, and five grandchildren.

Funeral services at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO. A 2:00 P.M., interment at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Higgensville, Missouri also on Wedesday, January 23, 2013
