Heart Attack is Fatal to Steel Company Engineer
Fredrick Funk, 41 years old, a mechanical engineer for the Sheffield Steel Corporation, died unexpectedly today at the home after a heart attack. He was the son of George E. Funk, a member of the color plate department at the Star.
He was born in Kansas City, Kansas and lived in the Greater Kansas City area all of his life. He was a graduate of the University of Kansas, where he was a member of the Kappa Signma Fraternity. He also was a member of the American Society for Metals and the Missouri Professional Engineers.
For the last fourteen years he had been with the engineering department of the steel plant.
Survivors; his parents of 3619 Bates Avenue, his wife, Mrs. DeVota C. Funk, and two sons, Russell S. Funk and Thomas Lee Funk, all of the home, 3636 Bales, and a brother Ted Funk, 3614 Askew Avenue.
Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday at the Freeman Chapel.
