John P. Aldsworth, 95 years old, died in West Lake Medical Center, Warwick, RI on June 28, 2011. Born in North Attleboro, son of the late Henry and Catherine (Cox) Aldsworth. He was a graduate of North Attleboro High School. He earned a degree in accounting and finance at Bryant College and he also attended Harvard University and Burdette College. He was employed by the J.M. Fisher Company in North Attleboro for over 30 years. He was a member of the U S Navy during WW II., serving from 1942 to 1946. He participated in the landing of Okinawa in the Pacific and also ferrying troops to France in Europe. John was a member of the VFW Post in Taunton and the US LST Association. A resident of East Taunton and Taunton for over 30 years he was a communicant of Holy Family Church in East Taunton. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Crosby) Aldsworth. He is the father of Jean Porter and her husband Richard of Warwick and the grandfather of Griffin Porter. John was the brother of the late Henry Aldsworth and is the brother in law of Nancy Aldsworth of NC. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral from the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave. ( Route 138 South) Taunton on Saturday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Family Church, East Taunton at 9AM.
