Mrs. Annie S. Brown, 76, of Victory Drive, Kansas City, Kan., a former Miller County resident, died Feb. 5, 1979 at Providence St. Margaret's Health Center. She was born Nov. 18, 1902 at Tulsa, Okla, to Henry and Francis Davenport Wood. When she was 10 years old, her parents moved to this area where she lived for 40 years.
In March 1920, she was married to Homer Brown at the home of her parents in Pennytown near Old Bagnell by the Rev. Elmer Thacker. In 1952 they moved to Kansas City.
She is survived by seven sons, Ernest H. Brown, Harold V. Brown, Carl V. Brown, Claude E. Brown, Donald H. Brown and Ronald H. Brown (twins), and Robert Brown, all of Kansas City, Kan.; four daughters, Mrs. Helen M. Hendricks of Tuscumbia, Mrs. Opal M. Grim of Hillsboro, Mrs. Hazel W. Whiles of Campbell, Calif. and Mrs. Ona Louise Russell of the home; 29 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Oma, who was a twin to Ona, and a son, Roy, who died from a Car accident near Linn, and her husband who passed away Oct. 15, 1956.
Funeral services were conducted at Westside Baptist Church, 5928 Wood, Kansas City, Kan., where she was a member, at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery by the side of her husband.
