In 1883, was married to Miss Mollie E. Work. Surviving children: Banks of Virginia, Shirliereed Marie, Work A., Georgia, and George D. Jr. An Odd Fellow. 1902, Grand Master. Funeral from St. Paul's Sunday by Rector E. A. Temple.
