Myrtle Alma Edwards Skiles, 91, daughter of George Washington and Ava Hudson Edwards, was born Dec. 30, 1913, near Licking. She died Jan. 11, 2005, at Salem Memorial District Hospital in Salem.

She married Virgil Foley, who preceded her in death.

She married Glen T. Skiles Oct. 11, 1939, at St. Louis. They had four daughters.

She lived all of her life near Licking and enjoyed quilting. She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by Glen Jan. 14, 1983; her siblings, Earn Edwards, Sherrill Edwards, Jewell Edwards, Leo Edwards, Florence Fox, Retha Hayes, Jennie Waters, Opal Boyher and Edith Stewart.

Surviving are her daughters, Ava Thomas and Mary Pruett of Salem, Glenna Taylor of Edwards and Bonnie Bridgeman of Winston; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Services were Jan. 15 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harry Foley officiating. Burial was in the Licking Cemetery.
