Funeral services for William Lewis Collins, aged 38 years, who died at the home of his mother here late Monday afternoon, July 15, following a heart attack, were held at the Buchanan Baptist church, Wednesday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev C E Kirby, assisted by Rev D E Murray and Rev C Newman Faulconer.
Interment was in Fairview cemetery here.
A military escort from Buchanan American Legion Post 93, attended the funeral, and taps was sounded at the graveside.
The deceased is survived by his mother, Mrs Tom Collins, and by his bride of two weeks ago, nee Miss Beatrice Owens, of this city.
Mr Collins, a World War Veteran was gassed overseas, and upon returning from France entered vocational training and became a proficient watch and clock repairer.
Much sympathy is felt for his mother and widow.
