Son and heir of Sir Robert Hungerford, Lord Hungerford and Eleanor de Moleyns. Grandson of Sir Robert Hungerford of Heytesbury and Margaret de Botreaux. Grandson of Sir William de Moleyns of Stoke Poges and Anne Whalesborough.
First of three husbands of Anne Percy, youngest child of Sir Henry Percy, descendant of King Edward III of England and Eleanor de Neville, daughter of Sir Ralph and descendant of King John of England. They were married before 16 October 1460, the date of their charter of marriage, and produced two daughters, Elizabeth and Mary, who would marry Sir Edward Hastings.
Sir Thomas originally supported Edward IV and the Yorkists, but joined in Warwick's conspiracy to restore Henry VI in 1469. Thomas was attained and put to death near Salisbury as a traitor 18 Jan 1469.
Some records say he was buried at Farleigh Castle, also known as Farleigh Hungerford Castle.
