Guy K. Whistler, 85, of 76 Hillside Drive, Carlisle, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, in Carlisle Hospital.
Born May 10, 1915, in Penn Township, he was the son of the late Harry and Maude Kelso Whistler.
Mr. Whistler was a retired supervisor of the Washington, D.C., Post Office.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Carlisle, where he was a past president of the church council. He was a member of Elks Lodge 578 and St. John's Lodge 260 F&AM, both of Carlisle; National Association of Retired Federal Employees Chapter 373 and AARP Chapter 3378.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, and was a 1933 graduate of Carlisle High School.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret Grissinger Whistler; a brother, Paul Whistler of Carlisle; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the First Lutheran Church, 100 E. High St., Carlisle, with the Rev. William C. Jacobs officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Westminster Memorial Gardens, North Middleton Township.
