Peggy Anne Biddle, 80, left this world peacefully in her sleep on July 19, 2002 surrounded by the love of her family, friends and caregivers.
Peggy Anne came to Key West five years ago to recover from a stroke and heart attack. After spending some time at the Key West Convalescent Center, she eventually lived in her own apartment with the help of her family and caregivers.
Though Peggy Anne grew up in Bermuda and Philadelphia, she was proud to be a Key Wester. The day she was the featured Citizen of the Day was one of her proudest Key West moments. As an artist, she was inspired by the beautiful sunsets and the spirit of the island's artist community. She painted and created with joy during her final years. She was a supporting friend of the Woodenhead Gallery and a patron of local theaters, the symphony, and the Key West Pops.
She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Joel and Erika Biddle, of Key West, Ernest L. and Ana Biddle, of Rosemont, Penn. and Edward L. and Noellie Biddle, of Cambridge, Mass.; six grandchildren, Lisa Tzertzinis, Joel Biddle Jr., Silsbee Philo, Law Biddle, Nathalie Biddle and Nicholas Biddle; two great-grandchildren, Lillian and Will Philo, to whom she was known as "Grandma Daisy."
Celebrations of her life, to be held in Key West and Philadelphia, will be announced at a later date. Peggy Anne Biddle will be greatly missed by all those who knew her and loved her wonderful spirit and radiant smile.
In place of flowers, donations may be made to Glad Tidings Tabernacle Assembly of God, where Peggy Anne found caring friends and spiritual comfort.
