Deanna Ruth Walker died January 11, 2013 at the age of 50, after a courageous battle with cancer. Deanna was born May 5, 1962 in Great Falls, Montana to Bud and Nita Bronkema. She moved to Lovell with her family in 1963 when her dad took a job at the Radar Site. She graduated from Lovell High School in 1980 and attended two years of college. She married Steve Green and they had two sons, Stephen Casey in 1982 and Thomas Jeffrey in 1984. They later divorced. (Thank you for blessing us with two wonderful children!) She worked for a number of years at State Farm Insurance and the last 18 years for Bentonite Performance Minerals. She loved her job and was a dedicated employee.
She married Kevin Walker, her best friend and companion on October 24, 1998. (What a difference you made in my life and also Casey's. Thank you, Kevin!)
T.J. married Tawni Hubbell and had 3 beautiful grandchildren. They have been the joys of Kevin and Deanna's lives. Chelsi Taylor, Kade Thomas and Trevin Matthew.
T.J. went to mechanic school in Sheridan and now works at Bentonite Performance Minerals in Lovell, WY. (What a joy to have them living so close. Tawni is the daughter I always wished for. Thank you God for the gift of her as a wife, mother and daughter.)
Casey graduated with an associate's degree in Powell. He then joined the National Guard. Between two stints to Iraq, he was able to finish his Bachelor's Degree in accounting. He is now a CPA and works for MTP&C in Laramie, WY. She was so proud of both of her boys and loved them dearly!
She was preceded in death by grandparents John and Martha Bronkema and Simeon and Minnie Williams. Also her mother, Nita Bronkema in 1987, and her father Bud Bronkema in 2011.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 14 years, Kevin, her rock and better half. Her precious children, Casey, Thomas and Tawni Green. Her beautiful grandchildren, Kade, Chelsi and Trevin. Dale and Carol Walker, the best mother and father-in-law anybody could ever have.
My wonderful sister and her family, Greg, Stacy, Christy, Wade, and Miles. (Gwen, thanks for being there for me my whole life and taking such good care of me. Greg, I appreciate all the things you've done for me over the years, I knew you always had my back!)
Her brothers-in-law Russ Walker, and Chad Lindsay & family: Lindsay, C.J., Quinn, Carissa, and Celeste, her sister-in law Stephanie Montanez and family: Angel, Celecia, Michael, A.J. and Sierra. (Thank you all for welcoming me into such a close and loving family. Remember how much your Uncle Kev loves all of you!)
Her "bonus mom", Phyllis Bronkema, her Dad's wife and wonderful companion for almost 15 years. (Thanks for being so good to my Dad.)
Judy Green, also a special mother-in-law. (We had so much fun raising my boys. Thank you!) And brother-and-sister in law Brian and Susie Green, Kayla, Stephanie and Beau.
Her amazing aunts, Norma Schanck, who opened her house and heart to Deanna through her treatment, and Sally and Don Martinus. (They are both such strong women, truly resilient with everything life has handed them.) Sally has one son and one daughter that Deanna is survived by, cousins Sam Martinus & Sonja Nelson. (A lifetime of wonderful memories over the years! Glacier Park will always be a special place!) Norma has three sons that Deanna is survived by, Nolan, Jay and Karl.
Also aunts Gerry Cavanaugh, Ginny (Jay) Veldman, Norma (Bob) Rasmussen, Doris Holman, Betty (Gene) Stark, Joyce Sweers, and Barb (John) Glass. One Uncle, Butch (Sandi) Bronkema. Distance made it hard, but she felt loved and remembered by each of you.
My dearest friends Vicky and Scott Asay. (I cannot begin to thank you for all you have done to make my life so special. Thanks for talking me into Puerto Rico! Love you guys.)
Her reluctant Scrabble girls, Tami Baxendale, Lori Grandalen, Chauna Bischoff, Vicky, and Gwen. (Thanks for coming every month, it really cheered me up! What fun we had!)
And last, she leaves in Kevin's tender hands, her buddies and companions through everything, Stockton and Malone.
If you would like to make a donation in Deanna's memory they may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Lovell Senior Center, or the Lovell Library.
Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, January 16th at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lovell
