"NEW LISBON - The death of George E. Walter, a well known and prosperous farmer of New Lisbon occurred at his home about 1 o'clock Sunday morning. Although he had been in failing health for a long time, his death came very suddenly. The funeral will be held Wednesday. There will be a prayer at the house for the family at 12 followed by services in Zion Episcopal church at Morris at 2 p. m. The Rev. L. Curtis Denny, rector of the church will officiate. Interment will be in Hillington cemetery. He was born at New Lisbon, March 2nd, 1884, the only son of Charles and Louise (Turner) Walter. He was united in marriage with Miss Nella Thurston, March 4th, 1908. Soon after their marriage they bought the Jonathan R. Neff farm, where they began housekeeping, and where their entire life was spent ... Surviving, beside his wife, are three children, Clarence Walter of Schenectady, Miss Marion and Norman Walter, residing at home; his mother, Mrs. Louisa Walter of Gilbertsville; a sister, Mrs. Jennie Bartholomew of Gilbertsville; an uncle, Fred Walter of Oneonta; five aunts, Mrs. Jennie Peabody of Gilbertsville, Mrs. Seth Annis of Liberty, Mrs. Cora Lull of Portlandville, Mrs. Eva Wright of Otego and Mrs. Mary Morse of New Lisbon and several cousins together with many friends who unite with the family in their deep sorrow."
