Birth: Jan. 10, 1910
Kansas, USA
Death: Jan. 1, 1912
Franklin County
Kansas, USA

Minnie H. M. Dodd was a twin to Maudie Mary Dodd. They were the daughters of James Carlile "Carl" Dodd (1875-1942) and 2nd wife Lydia Canzadia May "Sadie" (Bennett) Dodd (1876-?).

Minnie appears on the Interment Record for Hope Cemetery as follows:

Minnie H.M. Dodd, Female, White, Mother: Sadie Dodd, Ottawa, Kansas, 1/10/1910 - 1/1/1912

Minnie's grave cannot be located in this Cemetery, so it is probably unmarked. The photo on this memorial is of the graves of her nearest relatives in this cemetery, that of her paternal grandparents, Samuel and Sarah (Prather) Dodd, and only Samuel has a stone. They are in Block A, Lot 1, Graves 6 & 7. It's possible that Minnie is buried by them.

Minnie died shortly before her 2nd birthday. So far as we know, her twin lived to adulthood. The last census in which her twin Maudie is found is 1915 in Ottowa, Franklin County, Kansas at the age of 4 after her parents had separated.

Both of Minnie's parents had been married previously and divorced from their first spouses.

Minnie's father Carl Dodd was first married to Grace Leaverton in 1899 and had 3 known children:

Marie P. Dodd 1900-
Ruby Marie Dodd 1902-
John M. Dodd 1903-1971

Minnie's mother, Canzadia/Sadie Dodd, was first married to William Henry Todd, Jr. and had 4 known children:

Zadia Emeline Tembreck Todd 1899-1990
Marie Todd 1900-
Alfred L. "Alpha" Todd 1901-
George Thomas Todd 1904-1988

Minnie's parents were married sometime between 1904 and 1910; at present their marriage record cannot be found. Minnie and Maudie were their only children together, so far as is known. They divorced shortly after Minnie died. It is known that by the 1915 census of Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas, Maudie and her mother and some of her half-siblings were living on their own, and father Carl was living with his parents and 2 of his children by his first wife.

Carl Dodd married two more times and died in a one-car accident in 1942 in Christian County, Missouri. Reportedly, his wife at that time was expecting a child. No other information is know about her or the child.

Canzadia/Sadie Dodd moved to Louisiana with her widowed mother, Pembrook (Campbell) (Smith) Bennett, and returned to her maiden name of Bennett. Her last known location was in Bogalusa, Lousiana, in 1954 where she ran a boarding house. Relatives report she was caring for an adult woman whom they thought was named Mary and who may have been disabled. It was unknown if this was her daughter or someone else she was caring for. This may have been Maudie, but this is not known for sure.
