In 1965, the Red Sox outfielder hit more homers than anyone in the American League (32) making him the youngest home run leader in AL history. Conigliaro earned his only trip to the All Star Game in 1967. He was severly injured by a Jack Hamilton fast ball that same year. He never fully recovered.

I can only imagine how excited the fans in Beantown were when you came into the league as a teen ager and started smashing all those homers. Raise your glass in Heaven with Ted Williams, Babe Ruth, and Joe Foy and toast the Red Sox. R.I.P -
