Jane Feinberg died Thursday, January 10, 2013 in Texarkana, Texas. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, April 6, 1919 to Asher and Louise Braunig, she graduated from the University of Texas, Austin, with majors in education and Spanish.
She is survived by one son, Alan, her daughters-in-law Miriam Feinberg and Sharon Suarez, and son-in-law Michael Schiff; grandchildren, Jeff and Dana Feinberg, Erik Feinberg, Doug and Rhonda Feinberg, Beth and Alan Charley, David and Autumn Schiff, Laura and Aaron Jack, Amy and Jean Pasquet; great-grandchildren, Zoe and Shelby Feinberg, Ben and Madison Charley, and Laura Pasquet; and a number of nieces and nephews. Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Stern, her daughter, Jan Schiff, and son, Stern Feinberg, Jr.
Jane met the love of her life, Stern, while at the University of Texas. She was always incredibly supportive of his efforts and enjoyed many travel adventures with him all over the world, by plane, car, and famously "The Bus," the family RV. She was a consummate helpmate, hostess, and public servant working for many years on the Board of Opportunities, Inc. and other groups that served Texarkana. She had great fun with long and enduring relationships, and particularly enjoyed storytelling, spoiling her grandchildren, and playing weekly bridge games with lifelong friends. A graveside ceremony will take place Sunday morning, January 13, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. at Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Texarkana, Arkansas, under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas Blvd.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 P.M. Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas Blvd.
