Ann F. Winslow, 94, widow of Ellis D. Winslow a longtime resident of Bennington died Thursday January 10, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington. A complete obituary will appear in Saturday's paper.

Ann F. Winslow, 94, widow of Ellis Winslow, a resident of Eastview Drive, Bennington, died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at her residence following a long illness.

Born in Bennington January 13, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Frank P. and Rosalie (Durand) O'Toole. Ann received her education in the Bennington schools and was also a 1934 graduate of St. Joseph's Business College in Bennington. She later attended Bay Path Institute in Springfield, MA.

Ann and Ellis were married at Sacred Heart Church in Bennington on June 19, 1937 by Msgr. Campeau. Ellis died December 7, 2009. In her younger years she worked at various stores in Bennington.

Ann was a member of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church. She and her husband had been very active in the fundraising to build the former Bennington Catholic High School. Her home and family were her main interest. Following her husband's retirement in 1976 they traveled throughout the United States and Canada and spent winters in Florida where they swam and played golf.

Survivors include two daughters, Joan Foster and her husband James and Carol Harbour, all of Bennington; four grandchildren, David Trombley (Laura), Betsey Vattimo (John), Jeffrey Harbour (Holly) and Laurie Kobik (Tod); eight great-grandchildren, Grace and Olivia Trombley, Erin, Jessica, Ryan and Sean Vattimo and Asa and Sam Kobik; nieces, nephews and cousins. Ann was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Jean Winslow who died in 1939 and by two sisters, Margaret Daigneault and Frances Adams.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Monday, January 14, 2013 at 11 a.m.

Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
