"Grandma Kate" was married to Arthur Blankenship until his death in 1967, then to Theodore "Toby" Ratcliff until his death. She had two daughters, Frances (1935-1964), and Geneva, who married Rush Lafon. She was the grandmother of four, and great grandmother of 8. Her mother was Rose Little Elswick Belcher and her father was Andrew Jackson "Jack" Elswick. Her father was widowed twice before marrying her mother, and had a total of ten children. She had two brothers Jack Elswick and John Lee Elswick. She died of a heart attack in her daughter's home after moving there a month before.
