OBITUARY

Mrs. J. H. Jacobson

Mrs. Jacob H. Jacobson was born July 10, 1857, at Donhowe, in Ushedal, Kvenherred, Norway. She died at her home in Story City on June 15, 1916, being thus a little less than fifty-eight years of age.

Her maiden name was Sarah Olson. She came to America with her parents when she was nine years old, in 1866. They located in Clinton county, Iowa, where they lived until 1870, when they moved to Story county.

She was married to Jacob H. Jacobson in 1880. She lived with her family on the home farm near Gilbert until the summer of 1909, when she and her husband made a trip to Norway. Returning from the old country, they moved to Story City, where they have since resided.

Besides the husband, she leaves to mourn her death, five sons and two daughter, namely: Louis O. of Milo, N. D., George E., Ole A., Theodore B. and William of Gilbert and Mrs. Anna Askelson and Minnie of Story City.

Mrs. Jacobson was greatly beloved by all who knew her. She was of a home loving disposition and thought and talked kindly of her neighbors. Her influence does not cease because she has been called to the better land; her memory will long linger fondly with those who knew her best.

It is several months since she began to feel the inroads of the disease which carried her away, and which might properly be classified as creeping paralysis. When the final summons came she was glad to go, having that faith which counted death a greater gain.
