Mr. David Ray Anderson passed away February 12, 2009, in Abilene. He was born June 23, 1935, to A G and Minnie Pelton Anderson in Westbrook. He grew up in the oil camp north of Westbrook, where his father worked for Standard Oil.

He married Lee Ann Dorn on August 30, 1952, in Colorado City. He worked most of his life in the oil fields of West Texas. He served 10 years on the Westbrook School Board and was a member of Westbrook Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He loved life and fishing on the Rio Grande was a favorite of his.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lee Ann; a daughter, Sandy Ray and husband, Dale Sheets of Colorado City and one grandson, Mark Sheets of Colorado City; one step grandson, Jody Sams of Morrilton, Arkansas; brother, Perry Anderson of Odessa, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Lee Anderson, his parents and one brother.

Services were held at 2:00 P. M. on Saturday, February 14, 2009, at Westbrook Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Smith, Rev. Terry White, and Rev. Kiefer Cauble officiating. Burial followed in the Dorn Cemetery.
