Carl Gustav Wrobbel was born to Gottfried and Wilhelmina (Will) Wrobbel in Babken,Westpreußen. He was a carriage builder and laborer who arrived in the United States in 1874 with his wife Augusta/Auguste, and their three sons, Otto C., Hermann & Rudolph.
Upon arrival to the US, Gustav briefly anglicized his name as "George" for a time, then reverted back to his given name which he went by for the rest of his life.
Though records exist showing that his son Rudolph was born in the US, the passenger manifest for the Barque Tuisko shows that Rudolph was indeed born in W. Prussia. His other four sons (Max, Edward A., Alfred F., and Richard F.) were all born in the US.
According to Michigan Death Records, Carl Gustav had died of Liver Cancer.
