Birth: Jul. 7, 1900
Indiana, USA
Death: Nov. 30, 1991
Elwood
Madison County
Indiana, USA

Born Effie Pearl Pettigrew, daughter of Norton Greenleaf Pettigrew and Ida Mae Scott. She changed her name early on to "Pearl Effie" and is listed as such on most records. She may have been emulating her father, who may have been born "Greenleaf Norton".

She was the sister of Irene, Herman, Mac Clellon and Leona.

She married Charles William Ford from Wild Cherry Arkansas, and I believe she gave birth to seven children. Charles died about 1937, and she raised the six living children alone and never remarried.

She was the mother of Mary Ellen, William, Barbara May, Terry, Jesse Norman, Caroline Jean, and an infant who may have been named Mildred. Caroline Jean died at about age 7 of a rheumatic heart, and is buried somewhere in Anderson Memorial Park.
