Henry Benninger, 68, 3404 NE 29th Ave., a lineman for Western Union and resident of Portland the past 33 years, died Wednesday in his residence.
Mr. Benninger was a native of Monroe, LA. Prior to his retirement in 1965, he worked for Western Union in 26 states. He was a member of Brownwood, Tex., Lodge No. 279 AF&AM, the Scottish Rite in Portland and Local No. 38 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Survivors include his wife, Inez; a daughter, Virginia Lee Ebberts, Portland, and three gransons.
Service will be Saturday at 9 p.m. in Caldwell's Colonial Mortuary and interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Mausoleum.
The family requests that remembrances be contrubitions to the American Cancer Society.
