KENTUCKIAN’S WEDDING QUIET
McKee J. Lafon Marries Tennessee Girl
Nashville, Tenn., Jan. 6 - Mr. McKee Jones Lafon, of Harrodsburg, Ky., was married in Nashville on Monday to Miss Ann Lee Blakemore at the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Daniel Barringer Blakemore, the bride’s uncle, the Rev. P. W. Weakley officiating before a small party of relatives. The house was handsomely decorated in green and white an the bride’s two brothers served as ribbon bearers… The bride was gowned for traveling, and they left at once for a Southern trip before going to their future home at Harrodsburg. The only out-of-town guest was the groom’s sister, Miss Mary Lafon of Kentucky.

LAFON, Anne B., in Berkeley, June 7, 1857; beloved wife of McKee J. Lafon; loving mother of Mrs. Martha Moore; sister of Dr. D. B. Blakemore, and James G. Blakemore of Nashville, Tennessee; grandmother of Linda Joyce and Black Moore. A native of Tennessee. Aged 70 years. A member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Oakland, Services were held Saturday, June 9, at Truman's Chapel, Telegraph Avenue, at 30th Street, Oakland. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Nashville, Tennessee.

Funeral services for Mrs. McKee J. Lafon, 70, former Nashvillian of Berkeley, Calif., will be at 10 a.m Thursday at Martin’s funeral home, 209 Louise ave.
The Rev. Ben G. Alexander will officiate, and burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery.
Mrs. Lafon died in Berkeley at 9:30 p.m. Friday after a long illness.
Mrs. Lafon, the former Anne Blakemore, was born in Nashville, the daughter of Dr. Dan B. and Mamie Griffith Blakemore. She was a graduate of Ward Belmont college.
An accomplished musician, she taught piano prior to her marriage on Jan. 1, 1917. Mr. Lafon, an insurance adjuster, survives.
Mrs. Lafon was a resident of Little Rock, Ark., for 30 years. She had lived in Berkeley since 1949.
She was a member of the Methodist church.
Also surviving; a daughter, Mrs. Norman Moore, Berkeley Calif.; a son, Robert Lafon, Erie, Pa.; two brothers, Dr. Dan B. Blakemore and James G. Blakemore, both of Nashville, and five grandchildren.

Note: She was the daughter of Daniel Laurens Barringer Blakemore and Mamie G Griffith, and the granddaughter of Dr. Jehu (John) Anderson Blakemore and Gartha Ann White Barringer.
