She was born in North Newport, NH on August 8, 1930 the daughter of Raymond and Goldie P. (Flint) Boutwell. She lived in Claremont from 1961 to 1975, in Somersworth, NH until 2000 and in Newport for the past seven years.
She received her nursing degree from the New Hampshire Community Technical College and worked as an LPN at Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont and later at the Dover Hospital. She retired from Sears in 1999 where she worked in the ladies wear department for three years. Sheila loved her family and enjoyed babysitting and doing puzzles.
She was the widow of Frederick L. Spaulding whom she married on Oct. 11, 1946 and he died Aug. 18, 1973.
The surviving family includes two sons, Frederick L. Spaulding, Jr. of Newport and Gary Spaulding of Claremont; two daughters, Joanne Clay of Crestview, FL and Carol Whipple of Lakeland, FL; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Jeffrey Boutwell of Jaffrey; two sisters, Madeline Davis of Newport and Joyce Collins of Georges Mills and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was pre-deceased by four sisters, infant Shirley Boutwell, Doris Bannister, Maxine Hurd and Lula Durgin; two brothers, John Boutwell and Francis Boutwell.
Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport.
