OKOLONA - Gladys Lorene Harmon Hinton, 86, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Panama City, Fla. She was born Sept. 6, 1920, in Chickasaw County to the late Ballard and Myrtle Saxon Harmon. She spent most of her adult life in Chickasaw County, was a longtime resident of Okolona and was employed many years at Delta Trouser. She and her husband of 67 years, W.C. Hinton, owned and operated a motel in Panama City for 10 years. She was an active and faithful member of Okolona First Untied Methodist Church for several decades. She and her husband were active in the VFW Chapters in Lee and Chickasaw Counties. She enjoyed her home, cooking for family and friends, was a great friend to many and known for her civic and community patriotism and involvement.

Services will be at noon today at the Okolona First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Frank Millender and the Rev. Bryan Scarborough officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Holland-Harris Funeral Directors, Okolona Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, W.C. Hinton of Lynn Haven, Fla.; one daughter, Pat Hinton Commander and husband, Charles, of Lynn Haven, Fla.; one son-in-law, Philip Flynn of Mobile, Ala.; four grandchildren, Phyllis Mabowitz (Eric), Shanun White (A.J.), Patrick Flynn (Shea) and Charlie Commander (Cassie); and four great-grandchildren, Flynn Mabowitz, Camryn Commander, Jason Flynn and Kevin Flynn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Alice Hinton Flynn on Oct. 29, 2005; and three sisters and their husbands, Maxine Brown (Jink), Maylene Reifers (Pat) and Jo Laney (Leon).

Pallbearers will be Eric Mabowitz, A.J. White, Charlie Commander, Patrick Flynn, Charlie Reifers, D.L. Winters and Skip Winters.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11:45 a.m. today at the funeral chapel in Okolona.

Memorials may be made to Okolona First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 436, Okolona, MS 38860.
