Mrs. Louise Meeks Cambron, age 101, of Rome, GA, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in a Rome healthcare facility.

Mrs. Cambron was born in Gaylesville, AL, on April 27, 1910, the daughter of the late Leonard B. Bramlett and Mary Frances Caldwell Bramlett. Mrs. Cambron moved to Rome when she was fifteen years old. She was the oldest member of North Broad Baptist Church and was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. Mrs. Cambron worked at Shannon Mills, Tubize Plant, Rome Hosiery Mills and at Floyd Hospital. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cambron was preceded in death by her first husband, James Glover Meeks, July of 1947 and by her second husband Hoyt Cambron, August of 1986; brothers, Horace, Gus, Grady, Walter and Euglid Bramlett; sisters, Beaulah Crocker, Bell Crocker, Minnie Burnes, Rosa Lee Bramlett and Madeline Tillery.

Survivors include her sons, James Glover Meeks, Jr. and his wife, Mary Grace Meeks, Charles Howard Meeks, Sr. and Larry Meeks and his wife, Wanda Hunt Meeks; grandchildren, Vanessa Wilson, Joe Meeks, Chuck Meeks, Susan Watson, Steve Meeks, Jason Marion and Shannon Marion; great grandchildren, Mary Kate Snider, Zachery Wilson, Devon Ariel Watson, Griffin Watson, Casey Meeks and Taylor James Meeks.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday December 23, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Heritage Chapel of Miller & Richards Funeral Home with Rev. Hugh Peacock. Interment will follow in the East View Cemetery with Rev. Horace Stewart in charge of the graveside rites.

The Miller and Richards Funeral Home Heritage Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
