Obituary-Dorsey Leonard Bancroft,son of George and Sarah Bancroft, was born in Greenup, Illinois September 19,1884 and passed away in his home in Greenup December 21, 1957 at the age of 73 years, 3 months. He had been in failing health for 5 years and had been confined to his home since the early part of September of this year. On August 18, 1908 he was united in marriage to Oma Stewart of Greenup and to this union three children were born, two of whom survive. He has resided in Greenup during his entire lifetime and prior to his illness in painting and decorating. He is survived by his widow, two sons Leo of Belvidere, Illinois and Gilbert of Greenup; one brother John Wesley of Kankakee, one sister Mrs. Goldie Kennard of Mattoon , five grandchildren and one great grandson.
