Lois Estellin Koenig, 85, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, January 4, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., January 5, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow in China Spring Cemetery.
Lois was born in Itasca, Texas, to the late Luther L. and Geneva Irby Mitchell. She lived her life in Waco and enjoyed spending time with her family. She worked several years as a home health nurse and later retired. Cooking was one of her most enjoyable interest. She will be missed dearly.
Lois was preceded in death by a son, Mark Payne; Scott Payne, Faye Harill, and Richard Koenig.
Survivors include her sons: Robert Payne, of Bryan, Keith Payne, of California, and Kerry Koenig, of Washington; daughters, Elaine Sifford, of Kilgore, and Deborah Hill, of Waco; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters; as well as other relatives and many friends.
