He was born Sept. 21, 1940, to the late Arlis Wendell Vipperman and Pauline Minnie Cook Vipperman.
Mr. Vipperman was a carpenter and of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.
Surviving are his wife, Julia Kay Brinkley Vipperman; three sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Deborah Vipperman, Gary and Rhonda Vipperman and Andy and Sandra Vipperman, all of Mount Airy; three granddaughters, Kayla Vipperman, Ashley Vipperman and Alicia Vipperman; four grandsons, James Hastings Vipperman, Daniel Vipperman, Chance Vipperman and Tyler Vipperman; two brothers, Kelly and Becky Vipperman and Teddy and Becky Vipperman; four sisters, Phyllis and Bo Clement, Faye Holyfield, Ruth Carol Vipperman and Judy and Rayford Gammons; and special friends and spiritual sons, Michael Ray Bowman and Joseph Hastings.
Mr. Vipperman was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Brinkley officiating.
Interment will be at Simmons Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Nov. 7, at the funeral home.
