William Franklin "Frank" Ely was the husband of Ellen J. Reed. Son of Joshua Jethro Ely and Hannah Green.

Frank Ely, 80, a Civil war veteran of the Confederate army, died at his home here at 10 o'clock Wednesday night from an attack of heart trouble, from which he had suffered during the winter. Mr. Ely seemed improved from his illness for the past two weeks prior to his death, and his death was unexpected. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ellen Ely, one son, Morton Ely, and one brother, Ira Ely, of Toledo. The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Emerson Undertaking home here, with Rev. D. S. Lamb officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill cemetery.
