"Sister Lourdes O'Malley, 92, formerly known as Sister Mary Germaine, of the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 99 Church St., died Wednesday, Dec. 4, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, after a long illness.

She leaves a brother, Joseph B. O'Malley of Shrewsbury; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Five brothers, Philip, George, Thomas J., John and Francis D. O'Malley, and two sisters, Catherine O'Malley Balwin and Mary O'Malley Keating, predeceased her. She was born in Clinton, daughter of Thomas J. and Annie T. (Mortimer) O'Malley.

Sister O'Malley taught in Catholic schools throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She entered the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1930 and professed her perpetual vows in 1935.

The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, in the Presentation Convent, 99 Church St. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Fitchburg. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, in the Presentation Convent, with a wake service at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Retirement Fund, 99 Church St., Leominster, MA 01453. Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 243 Water St., Fitchburg, is directing arrangements."
