She was known as both Mary Ida and/or Ida.

1st marriage was to Jacob C. Hahn of Terre Hill, PA on June 12, 1884. In April of 1885, according to the divorce papers, he deserted her and their child (Irvin A. Hahn). Jacob would later turn up in Illinois. Their divorce on grounds of desertion was granted in mid 1889.

2nd marriage was to John J. Stover also of Terre Hill, PA Sept. 8, 1889 - she was 7 or 8 months pregnant with their oldest son. Per the 1900 census, they had children: Sylvester, Lottie, Clara, Jennie, Elasta, and Edna. She and John lived many years estranged and are buried in separate areas of the Terre Hill Cemetery.
