EARLY COLUMBUS "EARL" WALTERS
Early was born June 3, 1856 to his parents, old Moses Oliver and Synthia Anne Franklin Walters,Sr. probably in Rankin County, Mississippi.
He and his family were in the 1880 Census, Beat 5, Jefferson County, Mississippi, listing himself as age 23 years and a farmer. His wife was Catherine age 21; Christopher, son age 2; Perley, daughter age 6/12 b.January.
In the 1900 Census in Dallas County, Precient #8, taken June 15, Early C. is listed being born December 1854, age 41, married 23 years, b. Mississippi, both parents b. South Coralina and he is a farmer and is renting the farm land. Catherine C., Early's wife was born April 1850 Mississippi, age 50, married 23 years, gave birth to five children and at this time only 4 are living. (I have no record for the first child who died.) Catharine's parents born in North Carolina. Children listed are Christopher C. (his nick name was Bert,) and he is buried under the name Bert Walters in the Oakland Cemetery.) He was born November 1877, he was age 22, single. Henry B. born May 1885, age 15, single. Sarah E.(Eruseline) was born June 1888, her age was 11 years old.
***( Perley who was listed in the 1880 census with her family is not listed in the 1900. She is married now to Reaves Willis Hicks, who was her first husband. She married him at the age of 15. Her second marriage was to J.L. Bradshaw. Her gravestone says, Pearl Bradshaw. The Texas Death Index, 1903-2000 list her as Pearly Derena Bradshaw, Dallas, Texas and she died Auguast 29 1955. Death Certificate # 38355. She is buried in Oakland Cemetery Dallas. She and Reaves Willis Hicks had one son, Frank T. Hicks.

REST IN GOD'S LOVE...Early is my mother's uncle, thus her Uncle Early. She has a brother who was named for this Uncle and he is also Early Columbus Walters-thus my uncle Early who I loved dearly all my life.|
