Isabel Brooks, 91, died Sunday, March 4, 1984, at Golden Plains Convalescent Center, Hutchinson, Kansas, following a two months illness. She was born Frances Isabel Lawrence, March 28, 1892, at Parkersville, Kansas, arid married Clinton H. Brooks at Nickerson, December 28,1921. Isabel taught school at Union Five Grade School west of Nickerson for several years before her marriage. She taught Sunday School and was organist for many years at Salem Community Church of the Brethren where she was a longtime member. Survivors include the widower, Clinton, of the home; three daughters, Jo B Runyan of rural Nickerson, Eloise Sheets of Seattle, Washington, and Connie Miller, Minot, North Dakota; one son, Larry of Iradell, Texas; one sister, Jo Ellen Waits of Sebastopol, California; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial has been established in her name with the church. Casket Bearers, Loyd Runyan, Gary Morris, David Miller, Dwight Allsup, Doran Miller, Mark Brooks, Music "Crossing the Bar" Virginia Switzer "Abide With Me" Grandchildren "Nearer My God To Thee" Congregation Graveside services were held at Memorial Park Cemetery, rural Hutchinson, Kansas, at 10: OO a.m., Wednesday, March 7, 1984, with the Rev. Jerry Wickline officiating.
