Harry Buckley dies without Warning
Harry Buckley formerly of Urich, died without warning and unexpectedly Thursday evening, March 15, on a road near Springfield, Mo.
He was driving his car home when lost control of the car.
The car went to the side of the road, but did not overturn. Two men who were near and saw what happened went to the car and found Harry dead. The doctor pronounced the cause of death as heart failure.
Harry Morton Buckley, son of Daniel Boone and Mary Elizabeth Buckley was born in Benton County, MO near Edwards, MO, January 10, 1890 and passed away very suddenly on Thursday, March 15, 1945, at the age of 55 years, 2 months and 5 days.
He was united with the Baptist church, at Urich at an early age, where his church membership was at the time of his death.
He was united in marriage to May Garrison on August 5, 1911. To this union were born three children: Carrie Edith Cashman of Springfield, Mo; James Harry of the US Army, who has been missing in action since Jan. 28th, 1945; and Kenneth Payton, of the US Navy now in the Pacific; one stepdaughter Mrs. Mamie Jordan, s-w of Urich, at Mayesburg, and ten grand-children, who survive.
Other survivors are his wife; one sister, Mrs. Gladys Billings of Kansas City, MO; one brother Luther Buckley of Tipton, Iowa; one half-sister, Mrs. Goldie May of Harrisonville, MO; two half brothers, Tom and Lloyd Thurston of Urich, Mo, and his stop-father, Joe Thurston also of Urich.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother and one sister.
He spent most of his life in and around Urich, except the past 14 years, where he has resided in Springfield, MO.
Mr. Buckley was a mechanic of considerable ability.
The body was brot to Urich, Saturday. The funeral services were held at the Baptist Church in Urich, Sunday afternoon.
Rev A. T. Wilkinson conducted the services. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemtery near LaTour in Johnson County.
Pall bearers were: Harold Jordan, Lindsay Cashman, Bobby Thurston, J. B. Thurston, Sammy Thurston and Donald Billings.
W. J. Brown, Urich undertaker, was in charge of the local arrangements.
Out of town relatives attending the funeral were: Mr and Mrs Lindsay Cashman, Springfield Mo, Mr and Mrs Jim Billings and family of Kansas City, Mo, Mr and Mrs Roy Mac Buckley of Kansas City, Mo.
Mrs John Feeback and daughter of Harrisonville, Mrs Mac Feeback of East Lynn, Mo.
Mr and Mrs Will Feeback of East Lynn, Mo.
