Gary R. Allen, 59, Adelphi, died Sunday, Feb. 13 at Grant Medical Center, Columbus.
Born May 14, 1940, Circleville, son of the late Raymond W. and Opal G. Spangler Allen, he was married to Kay Allen, who survives.
He was retired from DuPont and was a member of Ohio High School Athletic Association, Trinity United Methodist Church, Adelphi Lodge 527 F&AM, Scottish Rite Commandry 002, Royal Arch Mason, Grand Council Royal and Select Mason, Order of the Amaranth 58 of Columbus, Eastern Star 411 in Kingston and White Shrine of Jerusalem of Mount Pleasant Shrine 57. He also was a past Supreme Royal Patron of Order of the Amaranth in 1997-98.
Also surviving are a daughter, Kim Allen of Circleville; two sons, Brian Allen of Adelphi and Chad (Eileen) Allen of Mansfield; two sisters, Jane Allen of Laurelville and Sharon K. Spencer of Columbus; a nephew, Todd (Melody) Young and children, Brandy and Billy; a nephew, Brad (Susan) Young and children, Nikki, Dillon and Ridge; an uncle, Foster Spangler of California; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Mader-Peters Funeral Home, Circleville.
Burial will be in Green Summit Cemetery, Adelphi.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 Thursday and Friday at the funeral home.
Amaranth and Masonic services will be held 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made to Amaranth Diabetes Fund, 1660 Duke St., Alexandria, Va. 22314.
