Mrs. Anna Margaret Petersen Passes

Anna Margaret Hansen was born June 20th, 1864 in Denmark where she grew to womanhood and was married in 1891 to Peter Petersen. Eleven years after their marriage they came to America and for a number of years farmed up in the York Creek neighborhood. She passed away Sunday, May 28th at her home in Blair following a protracted illness.

To this union five children were born, four of whom are still living, one son losing his life from injuries received in the World War. Those surviving are Chris J. of Blair, Axel of Omaha, Mrs. Henrietta Petersen Saunders of Santa Barbara, California and Mrs. Emma Petersen Wellshans, of Blair.

Mrs. Petersen was a lady of refinement and of a kindly disposition that drew many friends to her and these old friends of long years standing will greatly miss her companionship.

The funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Bendorf funeral home with Rev. Lund of the First Lutheran church of Blair officiating and interment was made in the Blair cemetery where a host of friends followed the body to its last resting place in mute recognition of the loss they all felt so deeply.
