|Death: ||Dec. 29, 2012|
Today we celebrate Darah's life and legacy and the end of her suffering (not that you would know she suffered - she never complained). She taught us lessons on facing adversity that we could never imagine. She taught inner city children who she considered privileged. She touched so many young lives that we know a future generation is well prepared.
Darah treated everyone equally with dignity and love. She was brutally intelligent with knowledge that always baffled us (how did she know that!!!). She was a loyal friend and classmate that you could rely on (she would always keep your secret). She would consult with you and you could expect expert advice no matter how brutal. A woman of high character.
Darah attended King School, Our Lady of the Elms (2007) and the University of Akron.
Darah Louise Farris, 24, of Akron, passed away December 29, 2012, at Akron City Hospital, the same place of her birth. She was preceded in death by Sito and Gido Farris. Darah is Sito's maiden name.
Darah is survived by her parents, George and Debbie Farris; her sister, Maureen Farris; and Jeremiah Currier who was like a brother to her; her maternal grandparents, Greg and Maureen Browne; and her special godson, Karter. She has a special relationship with Michael and Julie Farris; her Aunt Louise; and will be deeply missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, au pairs, classmates and students. Her best friends Kristen and Maddy provided a great deal of peace, comfort and high jinks.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Our Lady of the Elms High School auditorium, 1375 W. Exchange St., Akron. Interment in Mt. Peace Cemetery, Akron. Darah's family will receive friends at Our Lady of the Elms Convent Chapel, 1230 W. Market St., Akron, on Tuesday, January 1, from 3 to 7 p.m.
