Robert Crouch, Sr.
The funeral for Robert Paul Crouch Sr., 89, of Hopewell, formerly of Henry County, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Collins Funeral Home with the Revs. Karen M. Shelton and Brian J. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Primitive Baptist Church cemetery in Patrick Springs with military honors by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
He died Dec. 27, 2012, at his home.
He was born on May 6, 1923, in McDowell County, W.Va., to Emmett Crouch and Agnes Hunt Crouch. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Annie C. Galyean, Hazel C. Cornett and Mary C. East; and seven brothers, Ashby Crouch, Charles Crouch, Edward Crouch, Kenneth Crouch, Minor Crouch, Thurman Crouch and Waldo Crouch.
He was an Army veteran with 20 years of service, including World War II. He was a member of the Christian faith.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Rosa Deal Crouch, of the home; two sons, Robert P. Crouch Jr. of Mechanicsville and Douglas A. Crouch, of Charlotte, N.C.; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Home.
