Captain in the 17th Virginia, Co. B, CSA. Enlisted 4/18/1861 in Winchester, VA. Wounded at 2nd Manassas. Promoted to Captain in 1862. Captured at Dinwiddle Courthouse on 3/31/1865 and sent to the Old Capital Prison in Washington, D.C. and then to Johnson's Island, Ohio. He was released on 6/18/1865 after taking the oath. He was a farmer after the war.
