He was an Esquire. His picture is on page 593 in
Coweta Co., Chronicles. He was a tither giving greater
than 10% to his church. He was a pronounced
Prohibitionist. Member of the Baptist Church.
Member of the Education Commission of Georgia Baptist
Convention. Mercer University Board of Trustees
Member. Joined Newnan Baptist Church Sep. 6, 1865 and
became a deacon Mar. 30, 1879. At his death he was
chairman of the board of deacons. Educated at Newnan
Male Seminary and Mercer University. Degree of
A.B. He left before graduation to join Confederate
Army. 1st Reg. GA Vol. 12th Batt. After the war,
he studied law. In 1889 he became a judge for the City
Court of Newnan until 1910 when he became a Referee in
Bankruptcy which he held until his death.
