Wanda M. Salisbury, age 91, of Lincoln and Johnson Lake, passed away December 28, 2012 at the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln.
Wanda was born December 22, 1921 south of Elwood to Henry A. and Amanda M. (Wildman) Withers. She attended country school in the Turkey Creek area, south of Elwood, through the 8thgrade eventually graduating from Elwood High School in 1940.
On May 21, 1944, she married Randall C. Salisbury at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Lincoln. Their union was blessed with 2 children, Robert and Susan. The couple lived in Elwood, and Wyoming while Randall played semi-professional football before returning to Lincoln in 1948, when they founded Salisbury Implement. The couple resided in Lincoln their entire married lives. In later years, they enjoyed spending time at their cabin at Johnson Lake.
Wanda was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, where she was Queen in 1980, P.E.O., the Shriners Naphis Wives and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Wanda enjoyed dancing, playing cards, Clio Club, and traveling with her husband and family to places like Russia, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and throughout Europe and South America. She and Randall also enjoyed attending Husker Football games for 50 years often traveling out of state to watch the team.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Randall in 1999; son, Robert; and great grandson, Dakota Salisbury Dickau.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Pat) Barratt of Lincoln; daughter-in-law, Rose Salisbury of Elwood; brother, Keith (Velma) Withers of Elwood; 4 grandchildren, Christopher (Nichole) Salisbury, Mindy (Brian) Hawkins, Cindy (Dan) Dickau, Shannon (Allen) Poppe; 9 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Elwood with Pastors Connie Karr and Bonnie Brock officiating. Burial will be in the Elwood Cemetery.

Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad is in charge of arrangements.
