Obituary in the Advance Hustler March 8, 1917

Harrison Turley Bowen was born in Nicholas County, Kentucky, March 25, 1834 and passed away at an early hour March 4, 1917, aged 82 years 11 months and 9 days. His death was caused from infirmities incident to old age from which he had been afflicted for many months.
He was the last of a family of 11 children, 5 boys and 6 girls, born to Francis and Sarah Turley Bowen who were natives of Virginia and Kentucky before coming to Indiana about the year 1836 when their son Harrison was just a mere child; and settled near Dover on the farm where Mr. Carson Bowen now resides.
Harrison Bowen's residence in Boone County Indiana was continuous since that time with the exception of a brief residence in Illinois with one of his sisters.
Early in life he affiliated himself with the Christian Church at Pleasant View and continued his membership with church until his death.
The funeral was held at Pleasant View, Monday, by Bro. Rector. Burial in the cemetery near by.
