Anna was born in Vienna (Wien), Austria, on the 13th of October 1850, per information provided by her son Charles Schaufel. Anna was the daughter of Johnan and Anna Jauch, both of whom were natives of Austria.
Anna Jauch and Ludwig Schaufel, were wed about 1875,in their native Austria. During their marriage, Anna had given birth to nine children, of whom only six survived to adulthood. Anna and Ludwig Schaufel, along with their three eldest children, (Charles, Laura, and Mary) immigrated from Austria to America, on June 24th, 1888. The family sailed on the ship, Movaria, which departed from the Port of Le Havre, France, and Hamburg, Germany. Anna and her family arrived in New York, New York on July 9th, 1888, and continued their journey west, settling in San Francisco, California. They established their family residence on Bronte Street, in their beloved City of San Francisco.
The 1900 United States Federal Census revealed Anna's husband, Ludwig was employed as a brewer, for John Weiland's Brewery, located in San Francisco. Anna and Ludwig had been married 25 years, and were now parents of six children. Anna gave birth to son Henry, on the 19th of December 1889, followed by the birth of daughter Ella, in 1892, and Freda, in 1893.

On the 21st of November 1924, Anna was rushed to Mission Emergency Hospital, suffering from shock and hemorrhage following fracturing her skull, per the Coroner's report.
