Lodia's parents were:
Amaziah Robert Sparks (1832 - 1918)
Sarah Ann Fowler Sparks (1842 - 1913)

She was the eighth of their 11 children. She & her sisters grew up on a farm learning how to do farm work at a young age. Kin claim the Sparks sisters worked as hard as men on their parent's farm.

When she was 16 years old she married George H. Miller, 24, in Lewis Co, WA on December 7, 1894. Rev. G.M. Baker performed the marriage ceremony in the home of her parents in Mossyrock.

Their son, Clifford Alonzo, was born in June 1896.

ON JUNE 15, 1900,
Lodia & George H. Miller, ages 30 & 21 (born Aug. 1878 & July 1869), owned a farm in Klickitat Precinct Mossyrock)in Lewis Co, WA. Their son, Lann Clifford, age 3 (June 1896). All were born in WA. They had been married 5 years; Lodia had given birth to one child.

ON APRIL 28, 1910,
Lodia & George H., ages 41 & 31, owned a dairy farm in Klickitat Precinct (Mossyrock) in Lewis Co, WA. They had been married 15 years; Lodia had given birth to 2 sons, still living: Alonzo C. & George L., ages 13 & 2. Alonzo C. was obviously Alonzo Clifford, shown as Lann Clifford in 1900.

ON APRIL 14, 1930,
Lodia L. & George H., ages 61 & 50, were still living on their farm they owned, located on National Park Highway in Klickitat Precinct (Mossyrock). Their widowed son, Clifford L., age 33, & his son, Leslie G., 22, lived with them. Clifford worked doing odd jobs; Leslie worked on the road.

"13 INCHES OF SNOW FALLS AT MOSSYROCK
Mossyrock, Feb. 2. - Fourteen inches of snow fell here this week, eight inches fell Sunday night. Continual snow the past month and freezing weather, however the rain has begun to melt the snow. . . . "

"The Ladies Aid met at the home of Mrs. Birdie Miller last Thursday at an all day meeting. A quilt was quilted. A warm lunch was served at noon and coffee at four. The next meeting will be held at the home of Lodia Miller."

ON APRIL 5/6, 1940
George & Lodia, ages 71 & 60, were still living on their farm in Klickitat Precinct (Mossyrock).

George died on January 2, 1941 in Mossyrock in Lewis Co, WA.

Lodia married George Strange in White Salmon, Skamania Co, WA on June 27, 1950. She died in Terrebonne, Deschutes Co, OR on April 3, 1955. Her obituary was published in the Centralia Daily Chronicle on Tuesday, April 5, 1955.

"FORMER LEWIS RESIDENT DIES
Mrs. George (Lodia Miller) Strange, 76, former resident of Chehalis and Mossyrock, passed away Sunday at her home in Redmond, Ore. She was born August 7, 1878, in Washington.

In addition to her husband, at home, she is survived by a son, George Miller, Mount Vernon; four sisters, Mrs. Effie Grimes, and Mrs. Lela Grubb, Chehalis, Mrs. Verda Burdett, Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Grace Johnson, Lonview, and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Fissell chapel in Chehalis. Interment will follow at Mountain View cemetery near Centralia."
